astrozombiebraineater Around '89-'90 I first discovered Verbal Assault's incredible and classic album TRIAL. Within a few months I heard ON, and I could tell that it was a progression but it took a bit longer to really appreciate it. After a little time I came to see it as the pinnacle of what I consider to be one of the greatest hardcore bands of all time. I wish it had been a bit longer originally, but combined with EXIT it feels like a more complete release showcasing the band's final output before breaking up.

A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
